GP2X-F200 Linux-based hand-held

Gamepark Holdings recently unveiled their newest model of the Linux-based GP2X hand-held.

I had held off from posting about it while I waited for more information to appear, but since a promotional video surfaced on YouTube today I figured it was time to weigh in on the GP2X-F200.

GBAX 2007 Coding Competition Entries

If you enjoy home brew games and utilities, you might be interested to find out that the entries for the GBAX 2007 Coding Competition are now available for you to download.

There was an excellent turnout this year with a total of 60 entries for the DS, PSP, GP2X, and GP32 hand-held systems. It was definitely not a surprise to discover that the majority of entries were for the GP2X.

Sqdef, a tower defense game created by Alex Margarit for the GP2X, has to be one of my favorite entries in this years competition.

The winners of the competition will be announced within a two week time frame and I wish all contestants good luck.

Finally bought myself a GP2X

I finally got around to purchasing the GP2X, a Linux-based hand-held game console and media player.
I have wanted to acquire one for a long time and I now realize that I should have bought it a long time ago.

It is a great product and has a great community behind it as well. I foresee myself mostly using the GP2X for playing my favorite console (e.g., NES, Sega Genesis, etc.) games on the go via emulators. Interestingly enough, that seems to be what most people use it for as well..

Here are some videos of the GP2X in action in case you are interested.
