Torvalds: Windows Vista is over-hyped and could help Linux

GNU/Linux
Windows Vista

In an recent interview with Computerworld at the linux.conf.au conference, Linus Torvalds gave his thoughts on Windows Vista. Here are a few quick excerpts:

"I don't actually think that something like Vista will change how people work that much. I think it, to some degree, has been over-hyped as being something completely new and I don't actually think it is."

Fifteen years already.. Congratulations Torvalds!

GNU/Linux

I just realized yesterday marked fifteen years since Linus Torvalds posted a message to comp.os.minix and announced Linux to the world.

"I'm doing a (free) operating system (just a hobby, won't be big and
professional like gnu) for 386(486) AT clones."

I remember first getting into Linux in the mid '90s and looking back you can really see how far it has come since then.
